Our approach
Call prevention Registry (CPR) works hard for our members to provide them with the peace and quiet they deserve - we ensure that our members are not disturbed in their own homes by unwanted nuisance marketing calls. In the unlikely event of any company infringing the terms and conditions of our members contract with CPR, we act promptly and take action against the Company responsible. And although we can report offending companies to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), we have not done so to date.
Instead, we prefer to work with- rather than against- the marketing company responsible in a spirit of mutual respect rather than informing the ICO and the issuing fines and pursuing legal action. We work to ensure that practical and positive action is taken on behalf of our members.
How we help our customers?
When a new customer registers their details with us, CPR will ensure that their telephone numbers (maximum of 3 including their own phone numbers and those of two of their family members) are removed from more than 1,500 data houses' sales lists throughout the UK and overseas. And in the unlikely event that any of our customers receive an unwanted call, we act quickly to take action against the company/companies responsible by requesting that our customer's details are removed from their Lists within 14 days.
To ensure transparency we keep our members informed of the progress we make during our investigations into any complaint and advise them on any further measures we intend to take to resolve their complaint satisfactorily. We also copy our members in all response we receive from the company concerned.
